Buff Lancaster-Thomas

Buff is based in Teignmouth, Devon. She is an issues-led artist whose themes have included homelessness, identity, euthanasia, consciousness and war.

Her current work includes a collaborative project with a prisoner on death row, USA with whom she has an on-going correspondence and friendship. She has recently completed an MA in Fine Art at the University of Plymouth.

Art is a means through which I explore and resolve my own ideas, thoughts and morality; serious enquiry is always tempered by a sensual pleasure in materials, textures and surfaces. The language of visual art may be less obvious than the familiar written word, but is open to infinite individual interpretation. Viewers may enjoy, aesthetically, the work I present; or may prefer the intellectual thoughts and challenges it engenders.”
